Ropes & Gray Receives Top Ranking for Diversity Among Large Law Firms from 2015 Law360Minority Report

Tags: Diversity

Ropes & Gray has been recognized as a leading firm for diversity by the inaugural Law360 Minority Report. The distinction complements the firm’s top diversity rankings in other leading surveys. Among the largest law firms on the Law360 list, Ropes & Gray ranked highest, and was the only firm with more than 1,000 lawyers recognized among the top ten firms on the list, ranking eighth overall. The survey ranked Ropes & Gray for its inclusiveness based upon the firm’s minority representation at both the partner and non-partner levels, and based upon the firm’s total number of minority attorneys. Separately, Law360 ranked Ropes & Gray as one of the 50 best law firms for minority partners.

Ropes & Gray has consistently been recognized as being among the nation’s leading law firms in the area of diversity overall, as well as with respect to minorities, gays and lesbians, and women:

  • In a 2015 Vault survey, Ropes & Gray was ranked #1 for overall diversity, and has been listed in the top five for overall diversity for six consecutive years.
  • For the past seven years, the firm received a perfect score on the Corporate Equality Index (CEI), administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. CEI scores are based on nondiscrimination policies aimed at making the firm a welcoming workplace for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees.
  • The Minority Corporate Counsel Association honored the firm with the Thomas L. Sager for two consecutive years in 2012 and 2013.  This award recognizes firms that have succeeded in introducing policies that promote diversity and inclusion through retention, client inclusion, pipeline, mentoring and LGBT initiatives.
