Ropes & Gray director & pro bono counsel Rosalyn Garbose Nasdor has been named the recipient of the 2018 Denis Maguire Pro Bono Award by the Boston Bar Association’s Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP). The award honors Ms. Nasdor for her work leading Ropes & Gray’s pro bono program, which includes partnering with many legal service providers in the greater Boston area to make representation possible for thousands of indigent clients.

Since 1989, the Denis Maguire Pro Bono Award has honored the work of outstanding members of VLP’s pro bono panel and commemorated Denis Maguire’s commitment to VLP and access to justice through pro bono efforts.

For ten years, Ms. Nasdor has been responsible for administering and fostering Ropes & Gray’s global pro bono program. During that time, the program has seen unprecedented growth. In 2017, more than 1,600 Ropes & Gray professionals worldwide performed a total of 160,000 pro bono hours.

Ms. Nasdor was recognized at VLP’s 2018 Volunteer Appreciation Event, which was held on Wednesday, September 12 at the John Adams Courthouse in Boston. The annual event celebrates and honors the thousands of attorneys, firms, judges and court programs that partner with VLP to help promote access to justice and provide countless hours of pro bono work.

VLP is an organization committed to providing equal access to justice to clients in the Greater Boston communities who face multiple social and economic hardships and are underserved in our legal justice system.
