Ropes & Gray Named Massachusetts Powerhouse by Law360
Ropes & Gray has been recognized again this year as one of Law360’s “Massachusetts Powerhouses,” topping the 2019 list according to headcount in the state. Law360 highlights the firm’s culture of diversity, commitment to pro bono, and impressive roster of clients and matters both in the U.S. and globally.
"The industries we are most prominent in — financial services, the entire investor class, health care, health care regulatory, biotech, drug development, life sciences, information technology, retail — Boston is a major global center for those industries," said Boston office co-managing partner Newcomb Stillwell. "The experience and expertise we've developed, representing those industries here, has resulted in major institutions in other parts of the globe wanting our help."
In addition, litigation and enforcement practice co-chair Joshua Levy highlights some of the firm’s highest-profile matters in the past year, including being retained as independent investigators for the U.S. Olympic Committee. Looking ahead, Boston office co-managing partner Jane Goldstein noted Boston-based Julie Jones’ appointment as the firm’s next chair effective January 1, 2020. "I think we will double down on the things we do really well, like private equity, life sciences, litigation,” Goldstein said. “I think Julie will be extremely focused on diversity and inclusion and how we continue to attract the best talent from everywhere we can."
