Ropes & Gray Named Massachusetts Powerhouse by Law360

Ropes & Gray has been recognized again this year as one of Law360’s “Massachusetts Powerhouses,” topping the 2021 list according to headcount in the state. The Law360 article reports that the firm advised 362 transactions from 2020 to mid-2021, totaling more than $397 billion. "After the first couple of months of hiccups and people focusing on their balance sheets, people wanted to do deals," said Jane Goldstein, co-managing partner of the Boston office and co-head of the mergers & acquisitions group. Notably, the firm advised Dunkin Brands Group, Inc. on its $11.3 billion sale to Inspire Brands Inc., the largest restaurant deal in six years. 

Law360 also highlighted the firm’s ongoing commitment to pro bono projects, noting litigation & enforcement partner Brien O’Connor’s role as Special Master to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court as the state sought to manage its prison population during the Covid-19 pandemic.
