Austin Laroche is an associate in Ropes & Gray’s life sciences regulatory and compliance practice in Washington, D.C. Austin leverages his scientific training and background in the pharmaceutical industry to provide strategic and regulatory advice to life sciences and health care clients on a wide range of regulatory and compliance issues under the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and related laws. He frequently provides regulatory counsel for corporate transactions, license and collaboration agreements, and public and private securities offerings involving drug, device, cosmetic, food, and dietary supplement companies.

Austin enjoys writing about new FDA regulatory developments, and he maintains an active pro bono practice, with a focus on immigration and child welfare issues. He is particularly proud to have been the lead attorney on multiple teams that successfully secured asylum for pro bono clients.

Prior to joining the firm, Austin attended the University of Maryland School of Law, where he won the school’s in-house negotiation competition, and he worked as a chemist for several large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturers.
