In a Westlaw Today article, health care attorneys analyzed the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) final rule requiring nursing facilities to disclose information about their owners, operators and management.
The authors note the CMS directive for increased oversight and accountability of nursing facility ownership may lead to increased targeted audits of private equity companies and real estate investment trusts owned nursing facilities by the federal government.
The article was authored by health care partners Devin Cohen and Christina Bergeron and health care associate Elana Bengualid, with a contribution from health care associate Will Shefelman.
