Ropes & Gray represented Eversource Energy in its definitive agreement to sell its 50 percent ownership share in two offshore wind projects, South Fork Wind and Revolution Wind, to Global Infrastructure Partners for approximately $1.1 billion in cash, subject to adjustments. The transaction represents a pathway toward Eversource’s full exit from its offshore wind joint venture. Ropes & Gray has advised Eversource on its offshore wind joint venture since its inception in 2016, including the 2019 acquisition of assets from Deepwater Wind and the 2023 sale of its interest in an undeveloped offshore lease area.

Eversource Energy operates New England’s largest energy delivery system and serves approximately 4.4 million electric, natural gas and water utility customers in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

The Ropes & Gray team was led by mergers & acquisitions partners Thomas Fraser and Marko Zatylny and included tax partners Brandon Dunn and Pamela Glazier, international risk partner Ama Adams, antitrust partner Jonathan Klarfeld, litigation & enforcement partner Dan Ward, IP transactions partner Erica Han, environmental partner Peter Alpert, real estate partner David Kaye and strategic transactions associate Kelly Finn.
