Ropes & Gray represented Stonepeak, a leading alternative investment firm specializing in infrastructure and real assets, in its agreement with the CMA CGM Group to launch United Ports LLC, a joint venture to acquire 10 of the major CMA CGM-operated port terminals worldwide. The joint venture is backed by a $2.4 billion investment from Stonepeak for a 25% minority stake. The deal was announced in a Jan. 28 press release.
