Ropes & Gray Advised Advent in its Investment in Defense Tech Company Saronic

Ropes & Gray represented Advent International as an investor in Saronic Technologies’ $1.75 billion Series D financing round which values the company at $9.25 billion. The investment was announced on March 31 and advances Advent’s commitment to invest up to $1 billion in next-generation defense companies.

Saronic designs and manufactures intelligent Autonomous Surface Vessels that are integrated into traditional naval and maritime fleets, enabling them to go farther and do more with less risk to life and mission.

Ropes & Gray also represented Advent in Shield AI’s Series G financing round, Advent’s initial investment toward its defense technology commitment.

Advent is a global private equity investor committed to working in partnership with management teams, entrepreneurs, and founders to help transform businesses. Advent oversees more than $100 billion in assets under management as of September 30, 2025, and has made 448 investments across 44 countries.
