Ropes & Gray advised Temasek on an anchor investment in the Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Partnership (“AIP”), a platform founded by BlackRock’s Global Infrastructure Partners, MGX, Microsoft and NVIDIA, with additional backing from the Kuwait Investment Authority and xAI. The platform held its initial closing in October 2025.
AIP was created to accelerate investment in next-generation AI infrastructure and advance the infrastructure and innovation needed to power the future of AI. AIP aims to mobilize $30 billion of equity capital from investors, asset owners, and corporations, with the potential to reach $100 billion including debt financing. AIP is one of the world's largest efforts to invest in data centers and energy facilities needed to power AI applications.
The team was led by asset management partner Chune Loong Lum, private equity partner Scott Abramowitz, tax partner Elaine Murphy, asset management counsel Eli Rosenbaum, and asset management senior attorney Joseph Povec. The team also included vice chair Neill Jakobe, private equity partner Brandon Howald, asset management counsel Billy Zhang, asset management associates Catherine Ho, Joseph Tower, Nadisha Fauteux, and Rayne Mahfood, and tax associate Daniel Lim.
