Ropes & Gray advised private equity firm Lee Equity Partners on its strategic partnership investment into Arcadian Risk Capital (Arcadian), a fast-growing, specialty managing general agent (MGA) with operations in Bermuda, Ireland, the UK, and the US. The Transaction is expected to close prior to the end of the first quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
Arcadian underwrites a number of specialty classes of business across general liability, professional liability, and property insurance lines. Since its launch, it has expanded rapidly into a leading global MGA, having built an underwriting-centric business, combining strong technical expertise, a disciplined approach to risk selection and intentional portfolio construction to deliver long-term value to its carrier, insured and broker partners.
The Ropes & Gray team was led by private equity transactions partners Shona Ha and Scott Abramowitz with support from associates Joshua Nicholson and Max Banister-Buffery. The team also included partners Andrea Hwang and Alex Robb (finance) and Chris Agnoli (tax); counsel Benjamin Wonnacott (tax) and Ana Biloglav (finance); associates Kwame Adzatia, Kevin Schoonveld and Nathan Steinberg (finance) and trainee Jaycee How.
