Ropes & Gray has advised PK Consumer Health, a portfolio company of Avista Healthcare Partners and Damier Group, on its acquisition of Puhdistamo – Real Foods Oy ("Puhdistamo"), a fast-growing Nordic player in the vitamins, minerals and supplements, sports nutrition and functional drinks markets.
This acquisition marks an important milestone in PK's strategy, strengthening its Nordic footprint by adding a true regional champion with a strong and well-developed omni-channel set-up.
Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Lempäälä, Finland, Puhdistamo is widely recognised for its commitment to high-quality, premium products supporting a healthy and active lifestyle. Backed by a strong management team and a compelling positioning in the fast-growing premium segment, Puhdistamo is well positioned to continue its impressive growth trajectory with the support of PK.
Last year, the firm advised Avista Healthcare Partners on its investment in PK Benelux, which initiated the establishment of PK Consumer Health as a platform.
The Ropes & Gray team was led by private equity partner Elizabeth Todd and finance partner Alex Robb with support from associates Victoria Srivastava and Callum Flanagan, and trainee Aidan Guo. Additional support was provided by finance counsel Jacob Bennett, and associates Chad Parkinson and Trisha Shah; tax counsel Benjamin Wonnacott; litigation & enforcement associates Michael Harris, Charlie Critchley, and Anna Pugh; and trainees Toby Pitchers, Eva Allen and Fang Wei Chua. Avance Attorneys supported on the Finnish aspects of the deal.
